Autobiography
By: Miles Gibson
Well I was born in my house in Asheville, North Carolina. I was born with a best friend for life, Atley and she is still my best friend. When I was about 5 or 6, I moved not too far away in to Candler, North Carolina right across the street from my soon to be middle school, Enka middle. Very shortly after I moved into my new house my sister was born, we grew up in this new house we got along good, sometimes other times not so well. I broke her leg when she was about three by pushing her off the bed and she hasn’t forgiven me for it. In elementary school I had a new friend that stayed for about 2 years Tristan Turner, him and I were awesome friends and we had a lot in common. But our friendship wasn’t so strong once I got into 6th grade. Once I got to the 6th grade I met one of my bests friend Callum. I remember very specifically what happened, I was sitting in lunch and I saw him. He looked pretty miserable. I could tell he was new so I said hey. He said hey back and then we started hanging out, and we’re still friends’. In those 3 years of middle school I met lots of other good friends. Unfortunately 8th grade would be an extreme low for me; I was an extremely bad student partially because I was hanging out with the wrong crowd, and partially because I hated my teachers, and was lazy. So as a result I made ds and f’s and barely passed the 8th grade. Luckily I did well on the big test at the end of the year. During summer, I went to my first course with SOAR were I realized my potential for academics and did lots of fun things, like caving, and climbing. After I got back I began testing for my drivers permit. After I was done with my first day Callum visited me and I studied using his help, then I started screwing around and I broke my wrist so I don’t have my permit yet. Almost right after my arm healed, I went to my first soar semester course in Yellowstone and the Rockies Nat’l Park. It was a pretty poor functioning group but we got better towards the end. Then I got a 1 month break, and now I’m back for my second semester with soar.
The end
